Frank Tooker Firearms Training is a certified, DPS-approved Security PSP Level 3 school (License #F28655001). Start with the Level 2 online course if you are new to security work, move up to the Level 3 commissioned qualification when you are ready to carry on duty, and come back to us for your bi-annual requalification. The full curriculum — tactics, firearms, shotgun and OC spray — is delivered in one program.
Level 2 Course
The starting point for every security officer in Texas. This online course is what you need to work as a non-commissioned security officer — complete it at your own pace, from anywhere, before you take on any security work in the state.

Level 3 Initial Qualification (30-Hour Online + 10-Hour In-Person)
Complete the 30-hour online course first, then finish with our 10-hour in-person tactics and firearms component across two consecutive days. Both days are required to complete your qualification.
- Defensive tactics instruction
- Handcuff use and expandable baton training
- Basic firearms fundamentals and range qualification
- Shotgun qualification included at no additional cost
- OC pepper spray instruction and qualification
Bring: serviceable semi-auto pistol or revolver (9mm minimum, rentals available), OWB holster and quality belt, 50–100 rounds, eye/ear protection, and your online certificate of completion (PSP 30 or 31).
